Martin Anderson and the GOODS - Classic Rock, Country Alt, and Americana
The Begining...

Martin Anderson started the GOODS in 2003 with his son Michael and his cousin Marty from Minneapolis.  They were a 3 guitar group that first hit the scene at a hip Northfield, Minnesota pet store(AquaticPets) and have never looked back!  Martin still enjoys playing there on special occasions like Northfield's famed annual Winter Walk.  Thank you Steve and Liz, store owners, for giving  Martin his first opportunity and their continuing support of his musical journey.

The group has changed members frequently over the years, making this a very interesting and dynamic group with changing influences and styles.  Martin is the only original member, and he has continued to keep his dream alive and growing through good times and bad.  Many band members are and have been Carleton and St Olaf students which also accounts for the turn over of musicians.  Martin has enjoyed playing with his two sons, Colin (mandolin) and Michael from "Son of a Gun" and his step son Mark Grundhoefer from "Down Lo", "the Mark Joseph Project", and MJG productions.downlotunes.com

Martin would also like to thank the good people (Norm & Julie) at the Contented Cow that have given "the GOODS" a musical home base for the past few years.  It has always been a pleasure performing at this special little venue and to be a part of its continued growth and support of the local Northfield music scene.

The 2010 GOODS include:

Martin Anderson--Vocals, guitar, harmonica

Matt Steele-- drums & percussion

Steve Delwich--Bass

Peter Laack--Sax, keyboards, & vocals

Marti Anderson--Manager

The GOODS music has a positive vibe that spans the decades and is always looking for that new American roots sound. This band digs deep to find some of the undiscovered/underplayed gems from America's great contemporary song writers.

The band is in the process of writing original music along the same Americana, Country Alt pathways that they have always been true to. They will surprise you with some David Bowie, Kinks, and Glam era adaptations that really rock.  They are constantly bringing new music to their shows, and you will always be surprised by what the GOODS bring to the table.  With a musical library of over 200 songs there is something for everyone.

Martin would like to thank all the fine musicians that have played with the band over the years.  There is real beauty in collaboration and it helps keep the whole experience fresh and new.
